Home For A Month

Hello peoples! I've been home for a month now and here are some highlights of my month. Most of this month has been relaxing, travelling, and visiting friends and relatives. I met my niece Lilaina and recorded a bunch of videos. I will post more of her in my youtube channel later.

Also I got stitches for the first time! Me and dad were working in the backyard and I accidentally cut my leg open on a sharp metal rod.

After a week of limping around I had the stitches removed.

Now I'm doing pretty good!

Also I went shooting pistols for the first time with Danny and John. Now I want a gun.

I'm back!

So I have come back to Canada. I have been here a week and have almost adjusted back to my regular sleep schedule. I'm hoping to visit places like Saskatoon, Estevan, and Brandon over the next couple of weeks. I plan on returning to Japan in a month or two but that depends on the next company I join. Catch me while you can!

Here is a video I recorded over a year ago while I was house sitting for mom and dad. This is an hour of what Shilo does when we leave him home alone. :~)

Kintai Bridge During Cherry Blossom Season

Today I went to the famous Kintai Bridge in Iwakuni.

This is a special time in Japan. The many cherry blossoms bloom with colours of white and pink and this helps paint the introduction to spring.

Many people find different ways to celebrate.

But most just have a picnic.

Kintai bridge also has a castle which has been destroyed a long time ago but rebuilt as a museum.

This is Kazue Hashimoto. She is our Japanese teacher and she acted as our guide today and she is awesome!

Green Tea and Mochi

Hey everyone!

I am still playing catch-up with posting images that i took many months ago. These were taken back in Fall. This is my first time tasting traditionally made green tea and "mochi".

Mochi is a sweet treat. It has a doughy exterior and a sweet bean filling. It's pretty good.

This is a the best green tea I have every had. It's bitter but goes very well with the mochi.

Holding the cup like this is part of their tea ceremony which seems to be a big deal in Japan.

More to come later!

Back to Hiroshima

Wow 2 months and no post! Yikes! I am sorry everyone but it has become colder and put me into hibernation mode. The lowest the temperature gets is about -1 or -2 but my place has no insulation. :(

I have lots of material and will be making many more posts shortly... I hope.

Today I went to Hiroshima with another teacher (Shauna) for the second time to do some shopping.

Upon closer inspection this map is really useful!

This is my first time to travel in Japan by bus. Luckily I had Shauna's help.

Hiroshima

We had supper at an Indian restaurant. I think it was called "Delhi's Kitchen"

It was my first time eating Indian food and it was delicious!

This is roast chicken, saffron rice, curry sauce with chicken, prawns with spinach dip (the best!), salad, and their special bread. I forget all of the Indian names for the food but it was all great.

Indian food has a reputation for being very spicy so I asked the waiter to make it less spicy and he said "So you want it Japanese style then?" ahhahaha

Me = Very satisfied!

More posts coming soon!
